Save the date and gather all your household hazardous waste! Get ready to take it to the Oro Loma Sanitary District (2655 Grant Avenue, San Lorenzo, CA 94580) on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Properly dispose of old batteries, medicines, cooking oil, cleaners, and other hazardous items. We recommend registering early since space is limited. This event is available to all Alameda County residents. 

Registration is by appointment only and will open soon. Additional details will be shared after registration.

What's Accepted:

This event will accept most of the same materials as permanent facilities, including medications and controlled substances.

• Motor oil, gasoline, and auto fluids
• Pest and garden chemicals
• Household cleaners
• Propane tanks
• Fluorescent light bulbs up to 8 ft (96")
• Fire extinguishers
• Sharps containers (needles, syringes, lancets)
• Medications and prescriptions (including controlled substances)
• Cooking oil
