What Types of Fats, Oils, and Grease Should NEVER Go Down the Drain?

F.O.G. stands for fats, oils, and grease, specifically of animal and vegetable origin. Here is a sampling of high-fat foods and condiments to avoid putting down the drain. They cause CLOGS.

  • Cooking grease
  • Butter and margarine
  • Shortening and lard
  • Salad dressings
  • Fat from cooked meats
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dairy products like cream
  • High-fat sauces
