Oro Loma Sanitary District Awarded Transparency Certificate of Excellence

On January 27, 2020, Oro Loma Sanitary District received the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence from the Special District Leadership Foundation (SDLF). The award is in recognition of Oro Loma’s outstanding efforts to promote transparency and good governance.

The Special District Leadership Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization formed to promote good governance and best practices among California’s over 2,000 special districts.

To earn the award, the District demonstrated eight essential governance transparency requirements, including conducting ethics training for board members, properly conducting open
and public meetings, and filing financial transactions and compensation
reports with the State Controller in a timely manner. Oro Loma also fulfilled fifteen website requirements, including providing readily available information to the public.
